In its current development, this training is filtered through bodily experience, giving rise to a dynamic in which learning occurs through repetition and permanence. The artist describes this mechanism as a construction of muscle memory: repeating an action until the body recognizes a path and follows it almost involuntarily. In this sense, painting does not respond to a preconceived idea, but rather emerges as a consequence of an action sustained over time.   <\/p>\n\n<p>Gesture and the body occupy a fundamental place in this process. For Ricardo R\u00edos, the artwork is the physical result of movement, a direct manifestation of gesture. Painting arises from a place that doesn&#8217;t necessarily respond to conscious thought, but rather to an energy closer to instinct than to rational thought. The body acts as a mediator between matter and image, leaving visible traces of movement, rhythm, and the intensity of the process. The artist situates himself in that territory where images do not seek to represent something concrete, but rather to activate open associations. The symbols in his work are not universal; they acquire meaning within a shared context, as cultural constructs that function for a particular community. A flower, as the artist himself points out, simply is; it does not contain a fixed meaning, but rather a function or presence in the world.     <\/p>\n\n<p>Rather than adhering to pre-established categories, Ricardo R\u00edos&#8217;s work exists in an open space, progressing without pre-imposed rules. Formal decisions arise from direct contact with the material, not from an intention to delimit or correct the process. By maintaining a direct relationship with forms of expression, Ricardo R\u00edos&#8217;s practice invites us to reconsider what is usually normalized or domesticated and to recognize the value of an expression that remains close to its physical and sensory origins.   <\/p>\n\n<p>In the landscape of contemporary Latin American art, \u00c1ngel Ricardo R\u00edos&#8217;s work is characterized by its coherence and continuity over time. His practice does not seek to define itself through labels or respond to external expectations, but rather to sustain itself through this persistence.
