Marcelo’s work invites us into a universe where reality and imagination intertwine, bringing to life playful, complex, and surreal scenes. In Imaginary Dialogues, various beings, characters, and zoomorphic creatures inhabit dreamlike landscapes; they undergo transformations and form unexpected connections, creating a space for interpretation and discovery.

Born in 1970 in Oruro, a mining city in the Bolivian highlands shaped by a deep-rooted folkloric and spiritual tradition, Suaznabar discovered drawing as his primary means of expression at an early age. The memory of this native environment reappears as a setting charged with energy, mystery, and symbolic power, from which emerge hybrid figures and unexpected situations that defy logic. These images arise spontaneously in the artist’s imagination and are captured through drawing, preserving their intuitive and enigmatic nature. Transformations, time, nature, and space thus construct a universe in which every element seems to take part in a silent conversation.

Through Imaginary Dialogues, Marcelo offers a perspective in which memory, symbolism, and fantasy coexist to expand the boundaries of reality.
