Born in Cuba in 1965, Ángel Ricardo Ríos is an artist who demonstrates a passion for color, texture, and form through his work. A graduate of the Instituto Superior de Arte in Havana in 1989, Ríos lives and works between Havana and Mexico. His career has been recognized internationally, with exhibitions at major institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art in Mexico and the Havana Biennial, as well as galleries in the United States, Spain, Turkey, and Colombia.

Ríos’ work focuses on two themes: play and intimacy. His works often take on a sensual character, and his rejection of the physical limits of the canvas. His compositions seem to explode beyond the edges, creating a world full of movement and energy. With an aesthetic that evokes the excess and richness of the Baroque style, Ríos invites the viewer to immerse themselves in a world of vitality and abundance, where flowers, fruits, and organic forms come to life.
When starting a new work, Ríos adopts a gestural and spontaneous approach, often using his hands to paint. His creative process results in pieces full of dynamism, with voluptuous textures and unusual palettes that challenge traditional painting conventions.

Ángel Ricardo Ríos is much more than a painter; he is a creator of sensory experiences that celebrate freedom and excess. His works, charged with energy and sensuality, are a testament to his unique vision and his ability to transform the canvas into a limitless space of possibilities.
