Sair-Garcia-2018

The series “Magdalena” is filled with images, atmospheres, and commonplaces from the banks of the great river, reminding us that the Magdalenians, those amphibious beings, were still there, in a world that moves like the river itself.

Sair’s work reveals, on the one hand, fragments of the beautiful everyday creator of life, and on the other, subtle atmospheres and scenes that remind us of the real and symbolic violence that inexorably leads to pain and loss.

This exhibition is a personal and intimate chronicle of the artist who recovers and recreates the sense of the place he describes through his paintings.

Magdalena is a sensitive evocation from art, which recovers the river as a vast and complex territory and landscape, which is interwoven through pipes and swamps, which inexorably flows into it. Without a doubt, MAGDALENA warns us, cautions us, about a beautiful and steely surface.
