Ángel Ricardo

Ríos

Based in Mexico since 1991, he graduated from the Higher Institute of Art in Havana, Cuba, with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts. Ríos’s work is driven by an urge, a blurring of boundaries within the space it occupies. Through his practice, he expresses a culture of excess, with paintings lavishly spread across the canvases. He does not fear mixing forms and colors.

To understand his work, two essential elements must be recognized. The first is a playful, intimate, and joyful relationship that takes the form of an intense and frenetic compositional nature. The second element is one that is more relaxed and direct.
