Based in Mexico since 1991, he graduated from the Higher Institute of Art in Havana, Cuba, with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts. Ríos’s work is driven by an urge, a blurring of boundaries within the space it occupies. Through his practice, he expresses a culture of excess, with paintings lavishly spread across the canvases. He does not fear mixing forms and colors.
