Santiago

Parra

Santiago Parra’s paintings feature bold and expressive black lines, evoking the aesthetic of Franz Kline’s canvases and Richard Serra’s charcoal drawings. In his large-scale monochromes, Parra draws inspiration both from Abstract Expressionism in general and from the flat linearity of calligraphy. The artist studied at the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá and at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.

Parra has exhibited in cities such as London, Bogotá, Santiago, Miami, and Lisbon, among others. His work is part of prominent collections including the Pérez Art Museum Miami, the Tanya C. Brillembourg Collection, the Solita Mishaan Collection, the Kehinde Wiley Collection, the Cesar Gaviria Collection, and the Lazaro Collection.

Santiago Parra’s creations are a testament to his mastery in the use of line and form, drawing inspiration from diverse artistic traditions and leaving a significant mark on the contemporary art scene.
