Alejandro

Sánchez

He graduated from the Academia Superior de Artes in Bogotá with a degree in visual arts in 2009, and three years later, in 2012, he completed his postgraduate studies in technologies for pictorial production at the National University of the Arts in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Alejandro investiga los cambios sociales en los países latinoamericanos, especialmente Colombia. To do so, it identifies the causes, such as globalization, democratization, and economic growth, which bring about these changes in social structures.

It then examines the factors that drive the development of this change, such as free trade, privatization, and multinational corporations. Finally, through his artistic production, he reflects on the consequences that social changes can bring, which is why we find themes such as sociocultural displacement and cultural uprooting in his work.
