Carolina

Antoniadis

Carolina Antoniadis's work is deeply connected to memory, intimacy, and personal history. From an early age, she was surrounded by art thanks to the influence of her grandfather, the Greek painter Demetrio Antoniadis, a presence that shaped her visual sensibility and her relationship with painting.

Her work constructs scenes brimming with color and ornamentation, featuring women and children depicted without defined features. These figures, stripped of individual identity, become open images that evoke shared memories, emotions, and experiences.

Through transparencies, geometric patterns, and glossy surfaces, Antoniadis creates compositions that oscillate between the decorative and the emotional. Behind the chromatic intensity and apparent visual lightness, an atmosphere of nostalgia and silence emerges, permeating much of his work.
