Nicolás Radic's work begins with simple, recognizable elements, but he takes them out of their usual function and transforms them into exercises in perception. From Santiago, the Chilean artist constructs compositions where reflections, folds, and transparencies create images where hyperrealism coexists with abstraction.
Working primarily in oil on canvas, Radic uses materials such as aluminum, plastic, cardboard, balloons, and cellophane to construct scenes where color, reflection, shadows, and folds take center stage. His works approach hyperrealism but move away from literal representation. Instead, the artist alters scale, perspective, and saturation to create images that oscillate between the recognizable and the abstract.
With nearly two decades of experience, he has exhibited his work in galleries and international art fairs in Latin America, Europe, the United States, and Asia. His work is part of important private collections of contemporary art, including the Sayago & Pardon collection of Latin American art in Los Angeles.
