Pablo Boneu’s work is inseparable from his own life, since he not only exhibits his finished creations but constantly questions them. Unlike many contemporary artists, Boneu merges his interest in the creative process as a vital experience with an obsession for presenting works that are coherent in their execution. His work combines two critical impulses: the repetitive production of the same object and the traditional conception of the artwork as a handcrafted fetish. This tension is evident in all of his creations.

This tension is evident in all of his creations.Rather than limiting himself to a particular style, Boneu develops distinct methods that reflect his careful craftsmanship while at the same time immersing us in diverse ideas and inquiries. More than filming, photographing, drawing, or writing, Boneu invents structures. These structures are both closed and open: closed due to their rigorous internal coherence, and open because they have the potential to proliferate indefinitely. It would not be an exaggeration to say that Boneu’s works are guided by the desire never to reach an end—to merge and assimilate with things in order to transform into another world still unknown.
